Where in the world is Widgawa Lodge?
West River in Spring
Widgawa is located on the West River,
500 m upstream from Charlton Lake,
in the heart of the La Cloche Mountains,
in northern Ontario, Canada.
The resort is nestled among tall silver birch,
trembling aspen, and old growth white pine:
500 m east of Highway 6, on Widgawa Lodge Road,
16 kms (10 miles) south of Espanola,
98 kms (60 miles) north of South Baymouth,
Manitoulin Island, and the Chicheemaun Ferry.
Full moon over Lodge, the loons are calling...

It is known that A.J. Casson stayed at Widgawa,
during painting expeditions in the area.
Casson's well known White Pine was painted nearby
at Dreamers Rock, a WhiteFish River First Nation sacred site.
While at Widgawa, you may adventure the back-country
and see the breath-taking scenery of the white La Cloche mountains
and the crystal clear lakes of Killarney Provincial Park.
You may paddle deep blue waters, between white quartzite hills,
explore enchanting islands, climb pink granite ridges with
stunning views and ancient pines, and hike through old growth forest.

on the water in the stunningly beautiful back-country of the
La Cloche Mountains & Killarney Provincial Park.

Photographers and film crews, artists of all mediums,
writers and poets, visionaries and dreamers, seekers of wild
unspoiled wilderness peace, blueberry pickers, hikers, explorers,
people who need a rest from the roar of the city,
and the grind of work and the rat race.
And folk like the rest of us, who love nature and want a safe
efficient way to experience it first hand, with the digital camera
on board, and a warm comfortable rustic cottage for the nights
under inky wilderness skies of northern lights,
shooting stars and madly mating fireflies.
Widgawa found its new gate keepers early one October
morning in 2010, when they dared explore the long interesting lane
to Widgawa Lodge, and it was love at first sight.
Maybe you will hear the rest of the story one night by the lodge log fire.
Come for an unforgettable holiday
in the rapturous heart of nature!

and the finely balanced development of an eco resort

snow white quartzite hills, habituated only by wolf and moose, bobcat
and lynx under skies of eagle, breathtaking sunset and the awesome Aurora Borealis
(Northern Lights);to witness if you are here and lucky!
